Abstract:With the continuous development of the national economy, China's energy consumption is increasing day by day. To ensure refined digital management of fuel consumption in internal combustion locomotives and improve energy utilization efficiency, it is essential to develop a digital fuel measurement system capable of accurately measuring fuel levels in such locomotives and automatically calculating key parameters such as refueling volume and fuel consumption. Based on the principle of fluid statics, a linear relationship exists between the static pressure signal of the fuel and the liquid level height in a fixed-shape fuel tank. Accordingly, a fuel consumption measurement system for internal combustion locomotives, utilizing fuel pressure sensing, has been designed. This system consists of two main parts: an onboard monitoring and measurement unit and a ground management system. Results from ground and field tests indicate that using pressure sensors to measure fuel pressure enables effective monitoring of fuel levels in internal combustion locomotives. The fuel measurement system can accurately and timely analyze the fuel consumption status of the locomotives, thereby achieving refined digital management of their fuel usage.
