Abstract:In special education classes, deaf students can only receive teaching through sign language. Monitoring head posture can estimate students" concentration in class, which has important guiding value for optimizing teaching effectiveness. Therefore, a classroom concentration monitoring system for deaf students based on head pose estimation was designed and implemented. Firstly, a classroom concentration evaluation framework was established. Then, a method for quantifying the pose of an individual student was proposed, which is based on the calculation of Euler angles using head pose estimation. Next,, a normalized method for calculating classroom attention was implemented based on cosine function and sampling calculation. Finally, the experimental results indicate that the method and system demonstrate a certain degree of effectiveness and practicality.
