Abstract:In view of the problem that clouds will reduce the polarization characteristics of sky light and cause large error of heading Angle data, near-ultraviolet band is selected to detect the sky polarization mode in bad weather. The first to use the sun photometer on different bands of polarization information, analysis data change trend of ultraviolet band of clouds weather polarized light navigation is advantage, and then design a set of polarization information navigation sensor system, under different weather by switching the ultra violet(UV) filter to realize visible light and near ultraviolet detection alternately. The experimental results show that the ultraviolet band is superior to the visible band, and the calculated heading Angle error is reduced by 60.68%. However, with the increase of cloud cover, the polarization image obtained in cumulonimbus cloud weather is somewhat curved, but the identification of the solar meridian is still high, and the heading Angle data is more accurate, which verifies the advantage of near-ultraviolet band in collecting polarization information under severe weather conditions.
