Abstract:To meet the requirements of video surveillance application, this paper presents a embedded video surveillance system on the basis of dual-core structure of ARM microprocessor S3C6410 and TMS320DM642 DSP. The system uses the CMOS camera to collect video data, which will be processed by DM642 and transferred to ARM processor through HPI high speed parallel interface. Then designed hardware connection scheme among system units of ARM and DSP. Moreover, program QT/Embedded application combining Linux asynchronous notification and multi thread technology to display and control the obtained video data. This system has advantages of high performance, low cost, low power consumption, good stability and expandability.
