This paper analyzes the processing mechanism of SV point-to-point transmission in the current smart substation, and presents a method for the SV direct transmission of high uniformity and consistency to meet the requirement of process layer. This design uses FPGA to realize DMA controller and Ethernet MAC control unit. SV message to add transmit descriptor, FPGA directly controls SV transmission according to the descriptor. Using the architecture of Spartan-6 series FPGA, the system realizes the high-speed transmission of SV data through PCI Express bus. The design applies and takes full advantage of FPGA parallel data processing features and extensive IP resource, to achieve a high-bandwidth and high reliability of multi-channel Ethernet point-to-point data transmission. It is greatly enhances the smart substation system performance.
