To evaluate the grounding effect on integrated grounding system(IGS) of high-speed railway accurately can provide the basis for the IGS’s design, construction , operation and maintenance. The transmission method is used in this paper based on actual structure of the traction power supply system. Shunting coefficient and integrated grounding wire’s(IGW) impedance are deduced considering the effect of protection wire(PW) and mutual inductance between rail and IGW respectively. Shunting coefficient and IGW’s impedance are used as assessment indices. A comparison between the theoretical result and measurement result on Suining-Chongqing railway shows that the method could get a good assessment result when it is used to evaluate the grounding effectiveness of IGS in roadbed section and bridge section. Especially in roadbed section, the grounding impedance’s theoretical result and measurement result are the same and the method reduces evaluation’s error.
