In view of the existing video monitoring system has low performance, poor flexibility, inconvenience updating, high development cost, the problem of low reliability, we design a video monitoring system based on field programmable gate array FPGA. First the system receive the analog video image by using CMOS camera OV7670 and storage this data by the dual-port SDRAM, utilize video signal processing ability, high level of integration, strong flexibility, parallel processing and any other characteristics of FPGA to realize the video signal processing, and finally displayed on the VGA monitor. Compared with other video monitoring equipment, the system can achieve efficient video monitoring, and has high real-time performance, low cost, high reliability and any other advantages.
